Does my child need to see a paediatrician or a doctor to obtain a formal diagnosis after going through assessment with you?

No, as a clinical psychologist, I am able to provide a formal diagnosis without confirmation from any other health professional. Many institutions will only accept assessment reports from clinical psychologists rather than a registered psychologist. However, if you are looking to pursue medication for your child, then is it recommended that you see a paediatrician.

Do I need to see a psychiatrist or my GP to obtain a formal diagnosis after going through assessment with you?

I would like know if my symptoms are related to ADHD so I can trial medication to see if this may help, who should I go to for this assessment?

If you are initially looking to find out if medication may help with your symptoms, it is recommended that you see a psychiatrist. Most psychiatrists will conduct their own assessments despite clients already going through the process with a clinical psychologist which may mean you end up paying to be assessed twice.

However, if you are not pursuing medication and would like to be assessed for ADHD, then you can book in for an initial appointment with myself to start the assessment process.
