Assessments
I conduct diagnostic assessments for both adults and children for a range of different issues (Ages from 5 years old to 75+ years old). As a clinical psychologist, I am able to to provide formal diagnosis and you will not require another health professional (i.e., psychiatrist or pediatrician) to verify the diagnosis. Specifically, I conduct assessments for diagnosing; Psychiatric disorders, Autism, ADHD, Intellectual Difficulties, and Specific Learning Disorders (e.g, dyslexia and dysgraphia).​​ These assessments can assist with NDIS funding, Centrelink and specialised learning support plans for school or university.
Please note assessments are not covered by Medicare and a mental health care plan (MHCP) cannot be used for assessments.

Please note for adults: If you are an adult looking for an assessment for ADHD and wanting to pursue medication, it is recommended that you get a referral from your GP to directly see a psychiatrist as they will often conduct their own assessment and may not take into account a diagnosis from a psychologist (however some will) which may save you time and money.
The Assessment Process
01 Contact and Book appointment
Email or call me about the reason you are looking for an assessment and I can let you know what kind of assessments might be appropriate and the list of costings around assessment.
We can then organise a time and date for you to attend the initial assessment appointment.

02 The Initial Assessment Appointment
The initial assessment appointment will involve gathering information related to the assessment reason.

I normally gather information around you or your child's development, as well as educational/occupational history.
​
At the end of the session, I can provide a preliminary opinion of what diagnosis/diagnoses I suspect and discuss appropriate assessment to further assess.
03 Assessment Appointments
After the initial assessment appointment and you have agreed to the assessment, you will need to pay a deposit of 50% of the assessment cost in order to book the assessment sessions.

Once this has been completed, I will conduct the assessments during the sessions booked.

I may email you standardised questionnaires for to complete about yourself or your child. If I am conducting an assessment for a child, I will also ask for your child's teacher's email address to request they complete similar questionnaires. If I am conducting the assessment for yourself, I may also speak to someone close to you e.g., parent or partner.
04 Report Writing
Once all the assessments sessions have been completed and all questionnaires and documentation have been received, I will start writing the report.
Please allow up to 3 weeks for completion of the report.

I will email you the report initially for you to check over and read through. If you have any brief questions, I am happy to answer them through email.
05 Feedback Session
You can then book a feedback session with myself to further explain the report in detail. (This will be an additional cost).
